Cyanobacteria also called “blue-green algae”, are causing harmful blooms in our water bodies, thereby exposing humans and animals to toxic substances while threatening ecosystem health too. This worldwide phenomenon is a direct consequence of unsustainable management of our water resources and it is fueled by climate change. In this talk, we will be addressing this phenomenon by examining how we can best manage the risk associated to these blooms and we can mitigate them on the short- and long term through best management practices at catchment scale.

Host : Dr. Jean-Baptiste Burnet (LIST)

Co-host : Dr. Silvia Venditti (FSTM)
