Guidelines 2023

In 2023, the University of Luxembourg will continue the initiative of conferring the Student Initiative Award, a recognition designed to highlight and reward exceptional student-led initiatives that have made a meaningful impact within our student community and beyond.
In 2023, there will be one Student Initiative Award. In instances where two nominations of equivalent merit arise, it is possible that two awards may be conferred, with the financial prize divided equally between the two recipients.
The Student Initiative Award carries a monetary reward of €1,500. For reimbursement purposes, an OTP will be established at the University, accessible to the awardee.
The award will be presented during the rentrée académique.

Who is eligible?

The award seeks to recognize an individual student, a group of students, or a student association that exhibited excellence during the 2022-2023 academic year.
Eligible candidates will have made an exceptional contribution benefiting not only the student community at the University of Luxembourg but also the wider society in Luxembourg and potentially further afield.

Who can nominate?

Nominations are accepted from the following sources:
• Students currently enrolled at the University of Luxembourg.
• Academic and administrative entities within the University of Luxembourg, including but not limited to SEVE, faculty administration, communication department, rectorate, and study programme.
• Faculty or administrative staff members from the University of Luxembourg.
• Registered student associations.
• Any association or individual maintaining collaborative ties with the University of Luxembourg.

The selection process
  • Nominations should be submitted to the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs (VRA) office via email to victor.cebotari@uni.lu
  • All nominations must be accompanied by a written justification, not exceeding 300 words, detailing the nominee’s qualifications for the award. Additional information and evidence that support the nomination are welcome (e.g., news, articles, leaflets of organized events, etc.).
  • A committee chaired by the Vice-rector for Academic Affairs will undertake the selection process once all nominations have been collated.
  • Following the selection, the VRA Office will liaise with the awardee and coordinate with the rentrée académique organization committee to discuss logistics associated with the participation in the event.
Deadline

The deadline for nominations is the 10th of July, 2023.
