Shades of Strength: Women, Violence, and Healing Through Art is an evening dedicated to exploring how creative expression can become a powerful vehicle for resilience, justice, and collective healing. Organized in collaboration between Douri, ACAT Luxembourg, and the Migration and Inclusive Societies committee of the University of Luxembourg, the event is part of the Orange Week initiative against gender-based violence.
The first part of the evening features a panel discussion on Strength, Survival, and Solidarity: Women Confronting Violence. We will welcome academics and guests’ speakers from NGOs, to discuss how women’s artistic and activist practices confront violence and transform it into social action. Feel free to join and participate in a conversation on how artistic or research-based practices can support healing and empowerment among vulnerable women.
The second part will be an artistic workshop with Walid El-Masri for beneficiaries of our partners NGOS. Participants are invited to create individual artworks as acts of testimony and empowerment. Through shared artistic practice, the workshop seeks to foster solidarity and healing, giving space to women’s voices and collective creativity.
