This autumn, Engineers without borders Luxembourg and Ingénieurs sans frontières Belgique are joining forces to host two complementary events exploring how low-tech principles can transform engineering practice.programm_EWBISF_Eng

Low-tech solutions invite us to rethink engineering by focusing on what is truly useful, sustainable, robust and accessible. They encourage us to design technologies that respond to real needs while reducing environmental impact while remaining within everyone’s reach.

What can you expect?

The event combines a morning conference with practical, hands-on workshops exploring different approaches to low-tech engineering.

- Introduction to Low-tech – industrial decarbonisation and sustainability
- Low-Tech & Engineers Without Borders
- How we learn to efficiently purify water from the most powerful engineer: Nature!
- Solar Cooking

Lunch & networking

Afternoon workshops | 13:30 – 18:00

- Water Purification – Nature-Based Solutions: wetland construction, water monitoring and wastewater biodiversity
- Solar Oven – Construction
- Solar Oven – Test & Measure (weather permitting)

The event is organised with the support of the University of Luxembourg and Citizens for Ecological Learning & Living (CELL).
