Create your own energy balls—a snack to reduce food waste

Description: This hands-on workshop invites you to create your own Energy Balls while discovering the value of local, organic ingredients and anti-waste cooking. You will learn a simple and versatile technique that can easily be reused at home, perfect for healthy snacking and supporting memory and focus in daily student life. The workshop offers the chance to assemble, taste, and take home personalised Energy Balls made from seasonal products from our country. 

 

Basic bike repair & adjustments workshop 

Hosted by: D’Haus vum Vëlo (The Bicycle House) 

Format: drop-in; no registration required 

Timing: 11h-14h 

Description: (EN) Join our DIY bike repair workshop at the UniBelval Flea Market and learn to fix your own ride! We provide the tools, spare parts, and expert guidance for you to handle maintenance and small repairs yourself—no prior mechanical experience is needed. If you have an old bike gathering dust, we also welcome donations to support our community recycling and refurbishment mission.

Nous mettons à votre disposition les outils, les pièces détachées et nos conseils pour que vous puissiez effectuer vous-même l’entretien et les petites réparations—aucune expérience préalable n’est requise. Si vous avez un vieux vélo dont vous ne vous servez plus, nous acceptons également les dons pour soutenir notre mission de recyclage communautaire.

Description: With the guidance of a teacher from the Confucius Institute, discover the beauty of traditional Chinese calligraphy while creating your own handmade bookmark. No prior experience needed. Don’t forget to stop by the book swap table so you can put your new bookmark to good use! 

 

Stitch by Stitch

Description: Step into a welcoming, creative space and join I.D.E.E. in Action as we come together to craft a collective textile artwork inspired by Sustainable Development Goals 11 and 15. Imagining what a truly sustainable, thriving community could look like. 

You’ll create your own unique piece using weaving, crochet, or sewing techniques.  As we explore creative textile and upcycling methods, we’ll also reflect on fast fashion and the environmental and social impacts of the textile industry.  

 

Postcards for Sustainability 

Hosted by: Espace Cultures, in collaboration with I.D.E.E. in Action 

Format: drop-in; no registration required 

Timing: 11h-14h 

Description: Join I.D.E.E. in Action and let your creativity flow as you design your very own postcard. Combining art, words, or even a short poem that reflects your vision and voice with the guidance and inspiration of an I.D.E.E. artist along the way. 

Each postcard will become part of a larger collective story, that will highlight the importance of sustainable development goals in a personal, meaningful, and inspiring way. 

 

Discover basic crochet techniques 

Hosted by: Kosmas 

Format: drop-in; no registration required 

Timing: 11h-14h 

Description: In this workshop the participants can expect to learn the very basics of crocheting and have the guidance for completing their first project such as a scarf, beanie etc. They will learn the fundamentals of how to start and finish a project and some simple but important stitches for anything they want to crochet afterwards. Materials will be provided. 

 

Draw your own cartoon character

Description: Learn how to draw Cartoon and Manga Characters! For beginners: learn how to reproduce a chibi character step by step.  For more advanced artists: learn different ways to draw a face from different angles. 

 

Create your own origami

Description: Origami is an art form almost as old as paper. I will teach you some models that are more or less traditional, and I will have several models that you can choose from. I will be able to explain in English, French and German if needed. 

 

Craft your own upcycled plush keychain
