Climate Change: Impacts on Agriculture
Climate change and agriculture is a topic that just keeps getting hotter, but what does it really mean? This topic will touch on the impacts that climate change has on the food production, how do we know that, and how does the future look like. We will also talk about what we can do to adapt to the changing climate if not even counteract it.

Global Agriculture: Benefits and Risks
Food production today is a global endeavor. EU for example imports over 90 million tons of food every year, but also exports about the same amount. We export a lot of grains, but import fruits and vegetables. Global agriculture has brought us benefits of unprecedented diversity of food at a relatively affordable price, but how sustainable and sensitive this system is? This topic will touch upon the challenges of food security and food sustainability, especially considering the global population growth.

Organic Agriculture as a Silver Bullet?
Is organic agriculture the ultimate solution to sustainable agriculture, environmental pollution, and healthy food? If it is, what is preventing the adoption, if it is not, why not? This topic will discuss advantages, disadvantages and challenges of the organic agriculture, as well as it’s future prospects, with the aim to demystify the buzzwords of sustainability, pesticides and healthy, organic food.

Conscious Talks: We wish to organize weekly discussions on different topics and current events, on which everyone can shed light from their own perspectives. The idea is to inform and exchange, with no prior knowledge required, with respect for each other, and with the aim of having an enriching conversation. There will be a moderator at each session, and we are open to suggestions for topics. Join us on Tuesdays and let’s talk.
