A week-long series of events showing how new generations of architects face the challenges of climate change, spatial justice, and urban sprawl with renewed sensibility. Context awareness, empathy with humans and non-human beings, match with technical and compositional skills generating new ways of observation, interaction, and cohabitation in our cities. A different attitude towards the soil, water bodies and atmosphere that sustain our lives on earth, moving out from extraction to restitution.
Organised in collaboration with luca, the students’ week includes an exhibition, talks, screening, workshop, and a closing conference.
10:00–16:00 – Workshop: Seed bombing and bird architecture. In the framework of the Re-wildening Belval event, promoted by Mr. Claude Turmes Minister of Energy and Spatial Planning.
Part of the ASA initiatives is “Re-wilding Belval” in collaboration with minister Claude Turmes. We want to make sure Belval provides an ideal setting for fostering relationship between humans and nature. By providing birds with safe and comfortable habitats, we can contribute to the conservation of these creatures and enhance the biodiversity of our urban landscape.
During this workshop, we will be making bird houses that utilise readily available materials and simple construction techniques. By employing sustainable and budget-friendly options, we can ensure that everyone can contribute to bird conservation, regardless of their resources or prior experience.
No prior knowledge is required; we will guide you through the step-by-step process of constructing bird houses, providing valuable tips and tricks along the way.
So, let’s come together, roll up our sleeves, and embark on this journey of creating affordable bird housing.
