Chaharshanbeh Suri  is an Iranian festival of the fire dance celebrated on the eve of the last Wednesday of the year, of ancient Zoroastrian origin. It is the first festivity of the Nowruz Celebrations festival.

Chaharshanbeh Suri is a fire-jumping festival, where people light bonfires in public places and jump over them, while chanting “Zardi-ye man az toh, sorkhi-ye toh az man,” which means “My yellow is yours, your red is mine.” The idea behind the festival is to symbolically leave behind all the negativity and impurities of the past year and welcome the new year with joy, hope, and optimism.
