Description of the training:
Plagiarism is the act of using someone else’s work or ideas without giving credit to the original source. It is a form of intellectual theft and violates copyright laws. Plagiarism is also unethical and is a form of fraud. It is important to reference sources to avoid plagiarism and to give credit to the original author or creator of the work. Referencing sources also allows readers to verify the accuracy of the information being presented and provides additional context for the work being discussed. Doing so is critical to maintaining the integrity of the work being presented, and helps to ensure that any research conducted is properly cited and attributed.

This training will provide you with an understanding of why referencing and avoiding plagiarism is important in academic writing. You will learn the definition of plagiarism and understand why it is considered a serious academic offence. You will also gain a thorough understanding of how to correctly reference sources, how to avoid plagiarism, and why it is essential to properly reference sources. The training will cover a variety of topics such as understanding the different types of citations, knowing when and how to cite sources, and being aware of the consequences of plagiarism. You will be provided with numerous examples of correctly referencing and avoiding plagiarism in order to develop your skills and gain a deeper understanding of the concept.
